NATHANIEL ARMISTAD, ATTORNEY
Nathaniel Armistad is a native of Columbus, MS and a proud 1986 graduate of New Hope High School. He received an Associate of Arts Degree from Clarke Community College. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Nathaniel Armistad also played Varsity Basketball while at Clarke College and the University of Arkansas at Monticello and worked during the summers at the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers.
Nathaniel is also a 1994 graduate of Mississippi College Law School. While in law school, Nathaniel worked with the Law Firms of Davis, Goss and Williams and Assisted as a Legal Writing Instructor at for the CLEO program at the University of Mississippi.
After law school, Nathaniel began his practice working as an Assistant District Attorney for the 22nd Judicial District (Claiborne, Jefferson and Copiah Counties). While serving as the Assistant District Attorney, Nathaniel Armistad also served as an Adjunct Professor at Alcorn State University where he taught Criminal Law, Ethics and Criminal Courts. In addition to teaching at Alcorn, Mr. Armistad also taught paralegal studies at Hinds Community College.
After working with the District Attorney's Office, Nathaniel Armistad worked with Frazer Davidson Law Firm where he handled mostly Premises Liability Cases and Mass Tort Litigation.
Nathaniel became a partner in the law firm of McMurtray & Armistad. Nathaniel practiced with Patrick McMurtray until Patrick retired from the Practice of Law in 2009. Nathaniel is currently the owner of the law firm of Armistad Law Firm, PLLC. The Armistad Law Firm's primary focus is school law. Mr. Armistad currently serves as School Board Attorney for seven (7) school districts and has served as Hearing Officer for the Jackson Public School District, Vicksburg-Warren School District, Hattiesburg Public School District, Pike School District, Columbia School District, Holmes County School District, and Yazoo School District.
Nathaniel has also provided Professional Development too many school districts on Searches and Seizures, Sexual Harassment, Bullying, Cyber Bullying, Suicide Prevention, Code of Ethics, Inappropriate Teacher/Student Relationships, and documentation and legal procedures for suspension, termination and non-renewal hearings.
